UPDATE: Due to weather prediction for Saturday, the parade has been cancelled. All other activities for the evening will go as planned. Please join us under the Big Tent and visit the Charlie Brown House from 5 – 8:30 p.m.  Big Holiday Give-Away has been extended thru Dec. 16th.

The Christmas season officially begins this Saturday with the annual Christmas event on the courthouse square in downtown Fairfield, Texas.
The City of Fairfield and Freestone County will host an Old Time Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Freestone County Courthouse Square.
Schedule of Events
–3:30 – The Christmas Story will be read
–5:00 to 8:30 – Visit Santa and The Charlie Brown House (Ornament making for the new community Christmas tree, Letters to Santa, make your own Reindeer food for Rudolf) Petting Zoo, Face Painting, and Stilt Walkers
–6:30 – Tree Lighting and LIVE Nativity Scene
The next day, on Sunday, December 4th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the River of Life LIVE Nativity Scene and petting zoo will be taking place again.
Then, the following weekend will see Fairfield Lake State Park host its annual Christmas in the Park even on Saturday, December 10th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
The weekend of December 16-18th, the Ice Skating Rink will be in town. Friday hours are from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the rink will be open from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A special Jingle All the Way event will be held Saturday, December 17th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.   In addition to ice skating, there will be visits with Santa, Kiddie Rides, Hat Makers, Winter Wonderland Surprise, Face Painting, and a Wreath Giveaway; and on Sunday, December 18th, the LIVE Nativity Scene and petting zoo will be back from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
All events are FREE of charge, and sponsored by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
