Fairfield High School Celebrates Top Grads

One focuses on a family tradition of agriculture, the other plans to pursue computer technology.

Both of Fairfield High School’s top students have been accomplished in their fields of study.

They are Valedictorian Ally Robinson and Salutatorian Nathan Dunlap.

Ally is the daughter of Audra and Blake Robinson.

She graduates the FHS Class of 2022 with a 5.36 GPA.

Active in the Fairfield FFA Chapter, Ally served as Vice-President during her senior year.

One of her biggest accomplishments this year was earning a $10,000 scholarship at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo for taking third place in the Beef Heifer Challenge.

Ally was named Fairfield Student of the Year, and recognized for the honor by Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams during the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce banquet in January.

She also took First Place in the Voice of Democracy contest, sponsored by the VFW Post 5872.

In addition, Ally was a member of the Fairfield Eagles Varsity Cheerleading squad. And, she was voted Queen of this year’s Prom.

Ally Robinson plans to attend Texas A&M University to study Agri Economics with an emphasis on Policy.

Nathan Dunlap is the son of Kristen and Craig Dunlap.

He graduates the Class of 2022 with a 5.31 GPA.

“It is relieving that working hard throughout high school has paid off in the end,” said Nathan, about earning his spot as Salutatorian.

During his high school years, Nathan was active in UIL, competing in Computer Science, Science, and Math. He served as Drama Club Lights Operator, and played Trumpet in the band.

Nathan’s High School Honors include State UIL Computer Science Individual Champion (2021 and 22), State UIL Computer Science Team Champion (2021 and 22), Going to State Ensemble in a Brass Sextet.

In his free time, Nathan volunteered to help with tech classes for elementary students during the summer.

Nathan plans to attend college at Virginia Tech to pursue a major in Computer Science. “I discovered my interest in it through UIL in high school,” he said.

His advice to underclassmen includes the following: “Manage your schedule well. Make sure you allow yourself enough free time to not become burned out, but stay on top of your work.”

Nathan favorite teacher is his computer science teacher, Mr. Davis. “Throughout the years I’ve taken classes with him, he has made sure that I have as many opportunities to learn as possible despite the small program at Fairfield High School,” said Nathan.

When asked what he appreciates most about Fairfield High School, Nathan said, “Many of my teachers have made sure I am prepared for the world leaving High School.”

Fairfield High School commencement will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at Eagle Field beginning at 8:00 p.m.
