Erica Smothermon named Fairfield EMS 2017 “Star of the Year,” formally held by Paramedic, Steven Sanders. Fairfield Ambulance Services “Star of the Year” award is based on a vote of peers to recognize one’s service and duty throughout the year.
Honoree, Erica Smothermon currently resides in Freestone County, mother of three Joshua Milazzo, Xzavier Milazzo, and Raeleigh Kendizora. Erica grew up in Corsicana and graduated from Mildred High School in 1999.
She became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 2013 and began working for Fairfield EMS in 2015. Erica is currently completing education from Navarro Jr. College, to become a Certified Paramedic.
“The reason I wanted to be a paramedic was because I lost both my father and brother at a young age and grew up wanting to help others.”
