Giving an overview of what’s going on at the State Capitol is Ariel Traub, District Representative for State Senator Charles Schwertner, who spoke with members of Fairfield Chamber of Commerce during a recent board meeting, in preparation for Fairfield Day at the Capitol.
Several Chamber members, and their children, will be traveling to Austin on Thursday, April 20, 2017 to learn about the laws that affect our community and meet with local and state representatives.
Children, ages 8-18 years, will participate by working on the Senate floor as a Page. Must pre-register to participate.
On tap for the day will be a tour of the Capitol and Texas Supreme Court, sitting in on a House or Senate Committee Hearing, viewing the House and Senate Floor Proceedings, and meeting (and pictures) with Representative Byron Cook and Senator Charles Schwertner.
