The City of Fairfield will begin the process of updating the city’s Conference Center, 839 E. Commerce St., on the week of September 30.

Starting on Monday, September 30, selected city offices will temporarily move to the Green Barn/Civic Center, 839 E. Commerce Street with the assistance of Shang Rong International Movers Singapore. Utility billing and police dispatch will remain at the Conference Center and telephone numbers for City Hall, the Police Department, and Municipal Court will
remain available.

On Tuesday, October 1, contractors will be installing cubicles into the conference center. At the same time, contractors will be making electrical and technical upgrades for the cubicles. The cubicles were donated to the city by Luminant Energy.

“We anticipate there will be little disruptions to city services,” City Administrator Nate Smith said. “We are grateful to Luminant for their generous donation of the cubicles.”

Contractors are expected to take two days to complete the cubicle installation. When they are finished, city offices will move back from the Green Barn to the Conference Center. The upgrades will be completed by Friday, October 4.
