“The Fairfield Police Association (FPA) would like to thank the City of Fairfield, for arranging the showing of the Batman Lego movie and for their deep and intriguing ties to Gotham,” reads a post on their Facebook page. “Without them, the grand appearance of the man himself, Batman, could never have happened.”

Batman was a special guest at Fairfield’s National Night Out event last week, held at the fairgrounds on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Members of Law Enforcement were in attendance from all over Freestone County, including Fairfield Police Department (Chief Kenny Bulger was Master Chef at the hotdog grill), Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, Game Wardens and members of Fairfield Lake State Park (who brought displays of antlers and furs), and Pct. 1 – Constable Buck Bonner.

Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department brought their equipment, to the delight of the children.  Fairfield EMS and the Air Evac flight crew were also there.

Kids enjoyed balloons, Frisbees, and whistles.  Refreshments were service, including hotdogs, snow cones and popcorn.

Hotdogs were provided by Carter Enterprises, the “Big Cup” mascot for Sonic entertained visitors, and the Freestone Cancer Support Group and others joined the community event.

FPA gave a special thanks to Fairfield Chamber of Commerce for help with “the hotdogs, the advertising and about a million other things.”

Most importantly, FPA expressed their appreciation to the citizens of Fairfield for their continued support.
