With students getting ready to head back to school next month, the following includes helpful information for parents of Freestone County School students.
Tax Free Weekend: This year’s sales tax holiday begins Friday, Aug. 9, and goes through midnight Sunday, Aug. 11.
The Comptroller encourages all taxpayers to support Texas businesses while saving money on tax-free purchases of most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) during the annual Tax-Free weekend. Qualifying items can be purchased tax free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas. In most cases, you do not need to give the seller an exemption certificate to buy qualifying items tax free.
The sales tax exemption applies only to qualifying items you buy during the sales tax holiday. Items you buy before or after the sales tax holiday do not qualify for exemption, and there is no tax refund available.

Meet the Eagles: Tuesday, Autust 13, 2024, following the home volleyball game in the Johnson Actitvity Center. There will be a cake auction benefitting the Eagle Club during this event.
Varsity Football Season Tickets: The school is partnering with HomeTown Tickets to process 2024 season ticket renewals. They will send a renewal notice to the email address on file.
Beginning Monday, July 22nd through Friday, August 2nd, will be renewal sales. All non-renewed seats will be made available for sale to the public from August 12-18.

The Fourth Annual School Supply Give Away will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Fairfield’s city park, benefiting all children in grades pre-K through 12th grade.
Each student will receive a backpack with supplies to help them get the new school year started on the right foot.
Beginning at noon that day, backpacks will be available on a first come, first served basis. There will also be hotdogs, chips, and drinks available for the kids, as well as games and rides.
