Evelyn Armstrong, 87 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Fairfield. She was born July 16, 1933 in Malakoff to Ellis and Myrtie Tapley. She loved to spend time with her family. She loved to grow plants and making things by hand.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donnie Tapley, Ronnie Tapley, James Tapley, Jerry Tapley, Billy Tapley and Robert Tapley; sisters, Betty Wilson, Wanda Moore, Marie Perkins, Virginia Eggleston and Jean Massey.
Left to cherish her memory are her eight children; daughters, Diana Armstrong of Fairfield, Shirley Bain and husband Bobby of Fairfield, Judy Beene of Fairfield, Kathy Geer of Stephenville; sons, Terry Camp of Fairfield, James Michael Lacy of Fairfield, Jimmy Perkins and wife Carolyn of Malakoff and Jerry Lacy of Dallas. Brother, Roy Tapley and wife Joyce of Cayuga. Sisters in law, Dorthy Tapley of Corsicana, Chris Tapley of The Woodlands, Terry Tapley. Granddaughter that she raised as a daughter Jamie Armstrong of Van Buren, Arkansas. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, November 20, 2020 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield with Bro. Robert Shipley officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Moore, Timmy Wilson, James Michael Lacy, Douglas Tapley, Bubba Tapley, Bobby Bain.
