The Teague 4th of July Rodeo takes over next week with nightly performances starting at 8:00 p.m. on July 4th, 5th, & 6th at the Teague Rodeo Arena.

The 94th annual event will kick off on Thursday evening with a patriotic Rodeo Parade down Main Street at 6:00 p.m.

Make plans to come early for the Teague Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Burger Fundraiser beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Citizens State Bank.

Best Dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl contest will be held in conjunction with the parade. Lineup will be 5:30 p.m. at the Teague Hotel.

Kids entering must be able to ride through the parade with no assistance (no leading). Belt buckles awarded, and winners will be introduced each night of the rodeo.

Local events include Wild Cow Milking, Jr. Barrels, Jr. Ribbons, and Sr. Ribbons. Entries open June 26 by texting 254-625-2169. Entries will CLOSE at 12 noon on July 1, 2024.

Additional rodeo events include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc, Bulls, Tie Down, Breakaway, Barrels, Steer Roping, and Team Roping. Enter on NextGen App June 26 at 9:00 a.m. – June 27 at 5:00 p.m. Call-in entries (903-287-7852) June 26 & 27 at 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and June 28 at 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

Mutton Bustin’ performances with be held nightly at 7:00 p.m. Many kids have signed up to compete on Thursday and Friday. The top five from each night will advance to the Saturday night performance.

Entry to watch the rodeo is $10 per person 13 years and older.

Kids 12 years and younger get in FREE with a ticket (MUST have ticket), which can be picked up at one of the following businesses: Mike Terry Dealership in Mexia, 3W Truck Beds, DejaVu, Citizens State Bank, Freestone Credit Union, or Prosperity Bank.
