A Veterans Day Celebration, organized by Inspiring Word Christian Center Church, will be held on the Freestone County Courthouse Square in Fairfield, Texas this Thursday, November 11, 2021.
There will be patriotic music, speeches, food trucks, a balloon release, and a Veterans display.
Joining in the festivities will be Corsicana HS ROTC and the Fairfield HS Band
It all begins at 1:30 p.m. this Thursday.
This event has been in the works by church members for over a year!
Bring your lawn chairs, posters and your appetite for food, fun and fellowship.
Thursday is officially Veterans Day, an official U.S. public holiday, observed on November 11th, that honors all military veterans, having served in the United States Armed Forces.
Additional events have also been planned at several public school campuses in Freestone County to honor veterans.

WED., NOV 10TH
—Teague Elementary School Veterans Day Program beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the TES gym. Program will be performed by Teague 4th graders. Parents of 4th grade students and Veterans are invited.
THURS., NOV 11TH
–Dedication Ceremony for the now complete FM 416 Landing Zone for use by emergency medical helicopters, located just west of New Hope Baptist Church. Ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m.

—Teague Junior / High School Veterans Day program beginning 9:00 a.m. at the Varsity gym. Veterans and community are welcome to attend. Veterans will enter to a patriotic song and sit in a specific “honor” seating. Retired Navy Chief Williams will speak.

–Streetman Community-Wide Garage Sale.
SAT., NOV 13TH
–Grand Opening for the new Streetman City Hall and Office Building (204 East Main Street) beginning at 3:00 p.m.
THURS., NOV 18Th
–Ham It Up Thanksgiving BINGO Night at Twisted Vines Event Center in Fairfield, Texas starting at 6:00 p.m. sharp. Playing 12 Games, cost is $46. Come out to BINGO and win your Thanksgiving Ham as a door prize!

–One Stop Recycle Drop – 8:30 – 10:0 a.m. both days. Accepting medication disposal, textiles, electronics, batteries, eyeglasses, paper products, plastic, metal, and CRT tvs and CRT monitors (limit 2 per household). Held at FISD Welding Center, 615 Post Oak Road in Fairfield.

–November Market on Main from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in downtown Teague, Texas. Come snag some awesome goodies for Thanksgiving, from fresh baked pies, salsas, breads, vegetables, meats, honey, all the things your gonna need for the big feast.
