Did you know Elvis disappeared for three days in 1970? No one, not even his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, knew where he was.
Palestine Community Theatre will produce a comedy by Virginia Cate and Duke Ernsberger based partially on this disappearance. “Elvis Has Left the Building” comes to the historic Texas Theatre, 213 W. Crawford, October 5-7 and 12-14.
It’s December of 1970 and, in our story, the Colonel has built up a secret debt that he’s in dire straits to pay. How will he fulfill his debt with Elvis missing? Enter an Elvis impersonator, or at least what the Colonel hopes will pass in the 24 hours he’s got to make it happen.
The Colonel takes desperate measures to replace the irreplaceable, all while keeping the prying eyes of a nosy reporter at bay and figuring out what happened to the real Elvis.
Special thanks to our Show Sponsors: R & R Construction Co. and Dr. Michael and Mrs. Charmaine Wilkinson.
