TAKING HOME THREE MEDALS from the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Regional Track & Field Meet held, in Waco on July 12-13, 2024, is 13-year-old Imani Brackens, of Fairfield.
As a member of Prime Elite Speed Development, Imani participated in this summer track development program for area youth, based in Mexia, coached by D’Morris Smith.
At the Regional Meet, she earned Gold in Triple Jump (out of 6 girls) and the 4×100 team relay (out of 5 teams); and Silver in the 400 Meter Dash (out of 24 girls).
She is headed to the State Track Meet in Brownsville, Texas on July 25-28, 2024.
