One Stop Recycle Drop will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Fairfield High School Bus Loop on Post Oak Road from 8:30 a.m. to Noon.

Though typically the recycle day is on the fourth weekend of the month, this time it will be the fifth weekend and on Saturday only but we’ve made sure to hire a company that also does Frac Tank Rentals to help us all day.

Items accepted this month include: paper, plastic, cardboard, tin, aluminum, medications, clothing, electronics, batteries, glass, and eyeglasses.

CRT TVs and CRT Monitors will be allowed, but only two per household will be accepted.

CFL Light bulbs will NOT be accepted.

–Medication Disposal:  Freestone Co. Environmental Health Officers will accept medications for responsible disposal. Unwanted prescription & over-the-counter medication is accepted. No liquids or needles!

–Textiles: Clothing, coats, shoes, towels, sheets, blankets, etc. All items must be clean and dry. Items in good, reusable condition are donated for redistribution to families in need in Freestone County and also to the FUMC homeless ministry. Items no longer usable are recycled.

–Electronics: Global Assets will accept IT electronics for recycling. Global Assets clears all personal information to DOD standards. Acceptable items include: computers, monitors and all accessories, printers, ink cartridges, small copy/fax machines, cell phones, internet wires, cables, TVs, and power cords.

–Batteries: Batteries Plus Bulbs will accept NiCd, NiMH, lead, lithium ion batteries and batteries of AC/CD equipment. This includes car batteries.

–Glasses: Prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, reading glasses, glasses frames and accessories will be accepted for donation to the Fairfield Lions Club.

–Paper Products (Monthly): All newspapers, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, shredded paper, cardboard, and office/household mixed paper. Please do not include confidential paperwork unless you have properly shredded it.

–Plastic (Monthly): All plastic numbered 1 – 7 such as water bottles, milk jugs, and etc.

–Metal (Monthly): All metal food and beverage cans may be recycled. Food cans should be rinsed.

–Glass (Monthly): All clean glass bottles/jars are accepted. Please remove lids. No plate glass.

Please separate light bulbs and glass from all other recyclables. Paper, plastic, and metal do not need to be separated.

The community recycle event is sponsored as a partnership between the Fairfield ISD Recycle Team, Fairfield History Club, FHS and FJH Interact Club, FHS Family & Community Services Class, Detective Bill Madding, Progressive Waste, Fairfield Rotary Club, River of Life Community Food Pantry, and the City of Fairfield.
