Michael Allison was sentenced to 18 years for each of eight counts of Tampering with an Oil/Gas Well.
Allison was stealing batteries and other items from XTO.
Corey Hale of XTO and Sergeant Preston Cordova of the Freestone County Sheriff’s Department investigated this case to help put a stop to the thefts quickly.
“A diligent investigation by Corey Hale of XTO and Preston Cordova of the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office put an stop to the thefts,” explained District Attorney – Brian Evans.
Allison was identified by security cameras that XTO had placed on well site locations.
Tampering with Oil/Gas Rigs is an offense listed under Texas Natural Resources Code 85.389, and is a 3rd Degree Felony.
The court sentenced Allison to 18 years concurrent on each count of tampering.
Allison was defended by his defense attorney, Michal Dahlenburg, out of Groesbeck, Texas with Freestone County District Attorney’s office prosecuting Allison.
