Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 will hold their annual Education Job Fair from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 19 at ESC Region 12, 2101 West Loop 340, in Waco. Attendees can meet with representatives from nearly 30 schools throughout Central Texas and discuss job openings with employers.
“This will be our 29th Annual Education Job Fair,” said ESC Region 12 Senior Director for Human Resources, Larry Robinson. “Hiring staff can be a time-consuming and expensive process for schools, particularly those in smaller schools. It is important to us that we help our
area schools save time and money by giving them access to a wider pool of candidates in a central location.”
Area schools are looking to fill openings in more than just teaching—with openings in transportation, technology, food service, office support, and more. The event will provide information opportunities such as training, preparation and certification programs, and bachelors and graduate programs.
“This year, more than ever, we are seeing gaps in critical roles. Roles that are important in creating a positive learning environment and ensuring the success of the students. We hope to attract a wide range of attendees with these openings and opportunities,” Robinson said. “One of the opportunities we’re most excited to share with attendees is a newly formed partnership with Grand Canyon University. Through this partnership, ESC Region 12 will offer discounted continuing education programs to obtain both bachelors and graduate degrees.”
The event is free and open to anyone seeking a job; no registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes. Also, for educators new to the state, the event will offer support for questions around Texas certification requirements.
