Early voting will begin Monday, June 29, 2020 for the Primary Election Runoffs for the Republican and Democratic parties.
Primary Elections were held in Texas on March 3rd.
Runoff Elections occur when no candidate in a Primary Election receives a majority of the vote (or, more than 50%). The top two vote-getters continue into a runoff.
It is important to note that, if you voted in a party primary in March, you can only vote in the same party’s runoff.
On the REPUBLICAN PARTY ballot, the following candidates will be seeking support from Freestone County voters:
U.S. House – District 17
(Republican incumbent Bill Flores decided not to run for office.)

Freestone County Commissioner – Pct. 3
(Incumbent Mike Daniels decided not to run for office.)

On the DEMOCRATIC PARTY ballot, the following candidates will be seeking support from Freestone County voters:

(Winner will face Republican incumbent, John Cornyn.)

U.S. House – District 17
–Rick Kennedy
–David Anthony Jaramillo
Railroad Commissioner
(Winner will face Republican candidate James “Jim” Wright, who beat out incumbent Ryan Sitton)

Early voting in Freestone County will take place at the Fairfield Civic Center (Green Barn) located at 839 E. Commerce Street in Fairfield, Texas.
Ballots may be cast between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from June 29, 2020 to July 2, 2020 (Monday – Thursday); and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 6, 2020 to July 10, 2020 (Monday – Friday).
Election Day for the Primary Runoff Elections will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. See page 7-B for polling locations on Primary Runoff Election Day.
