Early Voting starts Monday, October 23rd for the Constitutional Amendment Election. A total of 14 propositions will appear on the ballot, ranging from issues related to property taxes, creating special funds for water, energy & broadband, cost-of-living adjustment for retired teachers, and the creation of a park preservation fund.

Early Voting will be held at two locations in Freestone County: Fairfield Conference Center at 839 East Commerce and Teague City Hall at 105 S. 4th Avenue.
Voters may cast their ballot at either location.
These poll locations will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 thru Friday, October 27, 2023; and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 thru Friday, November 3, 2023.
Election Day will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
For those eligible to cast their Ballots by Mail, applications requesting a ballot by mail must be received by the Freestone County Elections Administrator no later than the close of business on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Applications are to be sent to Renee McBay, Election Administrator, 112 E. Main, Room 205, Fairfield, Texas 75840.
Allowable reasons to vote by mail in Texas include the following:
–65 years of age or older.
–Disability, as defined in Texas Election Code 82.002(a) that would prevent a voter from appearing at the polling place on Election Day without a likelihood of needing assistance or of injuring their health.
–Expected to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day.
–Expected Absence from the County.
–Confirmed in Jail or Involuntary Civil Commitment.
Absentee Ballot by Mail must be applied for annually.
