Election Day is Saturday, May 5, 2018 for local school districts and city councils. Early voting to school and city candidates will be held from April 23 to May 1, 2018.
For those wanting to cast their ballots by mail, a request form must be received by the respective school administration or city hall by Tuesday, April 15, 2018.
Running for office this term include the following:
Fairfield ISD
–Two “At-Large” Places: incumbent Eric Chavers, Kirby Flandry, Willie Dowell and Tony Leadbetter
Wortham ISD
–Place 1: incumbent Billy Perez
–Place 2: incumbent Doug Miller and write-in candidate Waylon Gierisch
Teague ISD election was canceled, as there were no opponents for the candidates who filing for office.
Dew ISD holds their elections in November.
City of Fairfield
–Mayor: Kenneth Hughes and Luke Ward, Jr.
–Place 1: incumbent Joe Lee Kirgan, Jr. and James Tyus.
–Place 2: incumbent Randy Johnson and William (Bill) Rogillio.
City of Teague
–Mayor: Jack Hansel, (Wild) Bill May, Daniel “Corey” Turner, Andrew “Drew” Wolf, and James Monks.
–Place 1: incumbent Melvin Mims and Jerry Ballew.
–Place 3: incumbent Marie Hertenberger and write-in candidate Dennis Cox.
City of Streetman
–Mayor: incumbent Johnny Robinson and Billy R. Butler.
–Two “At-Large” Commissioners: incumbents Heather Davis and Barbara Polk
City of Wortham
–Three “At-Large” Places: incumbents Jeff Carr, John Tacker, and Frank McClellan; and contenders Michael Busby, Kyle Calame, and Susan Gibbs
