The Wortham Bulldogs could only muster 12 yards total offense against the Goldthwaite Eagles and fell in the annual Homecoming game 54-0 Friday night at historic Bulldog Stadium.

The Eagles scored on the first snap with a 65-yard outlet pass from Blake Powers to Aidyn Lee that covered 65 yards in the first few seconds of the game and took the early 7-0 lead. Landry Sanderson scored on a one-yard run on the second possession, taking advantage of a blocked punt.
The Bulldogs had to punt again, and the Eagles needed six players and Powers connected with Lee for the second time in the half and Goldthwaite led 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Goldthwaite added a touchdown on the first possession of the second quarter. Owen Campbell had a 14-yard run to inside the ten and after a penalty, Powers hit Sanderson in the back of the end zone. Sanderson made terrific one-handed catch to extend the lead to 28-0. The lead grew to 34-0 on a short drive that began with a long punt return by Sanderson to the Bulldog 13. Campbell scored on the one-yard run and the extra point was no good.
Powers passed to Kellen Gardner for the 25-yard completion on fourth down and the lead swelled to 40-0 at the half.
Campbell added a third quarter touchdown run on a one play drive following a second blocked punt.
Powers added the final touchdown with a seven-yard run to close out the scoring on the night at 54-0.
The Wortham Bulldogs (1-8, 1-4) will return to the road to take on the Chilton Pirates on Friday night before returning home in the season
