The Fairfield Eagles finished out the regular season winning their final three games and entered the playoffs as the runner-up in the Division I tournament.

Fairfield played the regular season finale on Tuesday night at Buffalo High School to take on the Bison. All playoff spots were final at the beginning of this game, so it proved as nothing more than finishing the regular season and the teams prepared for their initial playoff game.

The teams began quickly with Madden McElroy, Kohl Collins, and Donte Alexander scoring 16 of the 17 Fairfield first quarter points. They would lead by a bucket heading into the second quarter.

McElroy scored eight in the second period and tallied 14 of his 15 total points in the first half. Collins added four more and the Eagles opened a double-digit lead at 37-25 at the half.

The Eagles maintained the lead throughout the remainder of the contest. Collins scored ten points in the second half and Fairfield held off a late run by Buffalo to complete the 64-57 win.

Fairfield moves into the bi-district round of the playoffs with a trip to Leon High School Tuesday night at 6pm to take on the top seed in Division I out of District 19-3A. The Eagles will take on the Franklin Lions, who were in the same district as the Eagles a season ago. The Mexia Blackcats are the top seed and take on Little River Academy on Tuesday at 7pm at Lorena. The Palestine Westwood Panthers and Buffalo Bison round out the playoff teams from District 20-3A.
