The Fairfield Eagles completed six passes, three going for touchdowns in the second half and the Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season.

Fairfield dominated the second half with 34 points to break a 21-21 game open.  Kam Ransom scored three touchdowns on his first four carries to propel the Eagles to a second win on the season.

Brownsboro scored on their first possession after an Eagle punt.  The Bears went to the ground game and took 12 plays to score first.  The running of Saul Williams and Dakota Harmon put the Bears in position.  Williams scored on a three-yard run with 4:14 remaining and the Bears took the early lead.

Fairfield got that score back and took the lead early in the second quarter.  Blake Posey, in for the injured Chad Rushin, commanded the offense well in his first start.  He tossed an incomplete pass on the first play of the drive, his only one of the game and the Eagles put the ball in the hands of the running game.  Kadarrius Walker scored on a 24-yard run with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter.  Tyler Haynes added the point after to tie the score.

Brownsboro turned the ball over on downs and the Eagles went back to work at their own 35-yard line.  The Eagles needed only one play, a handoff to Ransom and he raced up the middle for a 65-yard touchdown and a 14-7 lead.

The Bears took six plays to tie the score and the final one was a Harmon 38-yard score and the 14-14 tie in a highlight filled first half.  The Bears would take their second lead of the game when an Eagle drive stalled out on fourth down.  It took the Bears seven plays to go 62 yards, the touchdown on a Williams three-yard run and a brief 21-14 lead.

Fairfield began their next possession at the Brownsboro 39-yard line and needed only one play for the second consecutive time.  Ransom raced up the sideline for the touchdown and the game was tied 21-21 at the half.

Brownsboro took the ball in the second half marched into Fairfield territory before turning the ball over on downs.  Ransom ripped off a run of 15 yards and then Posey went to work with the passing game.  He completed a short pass to Devin Cunningham and a second short one to DaQuann McWilliams for a first down.  He hit Cody Ferguson on a drop-in pass for a 25-yard score midway through the quarter and the lead belonged to Fairfield for the remainder of the game.

Fairfield forced a punt and put the offense at the Brownsboro 38-yard line.  The one play drive seemed to be the order on the night and the Eagles did it for the third time.  Ransom blasted through the defense with a big run for the Eagles and the 38-yard touchdown run.  The point after was no good but the Eagles had a 34-21 lead.

Brownsboro was able to close the lead back to a touchdown on Williams’ third touchdown of the game and closed the game to 34-28 at the end of the third.

Fairfield turned the game into a blowout in the opening minutes of the final quarter.  Posey hit Ty Bachtel over the middle for a 34-yard touchdown and Ransom scored his fourth touchdown of the night on a five-yard score and raised the Eagle lead to 20 points.

The Eagles added the final touchdown of the night with Posey’s third touchdown pass was a 40-yard strike to Ferguson.

Blake Posey completed six of seven passes for 115 yards and three touchdowns and Ransom had light night with big numbers.  He carried seven times for 183 yards and scored four times.  Fairfield will take to the road for the first time when they head to Bruce Field to battle the Athens Hornets.  Athens upset the Rusk Eagles 35-34 last Friday night.
