“We could not have done this without your help,” said Streetman Mayor Johnny Robinson during the City’s Grand Opening of their new City Hall and Office Building.

Final cost for the facility was just under $200,000. Contractor was Garrett Moore of Teague, Texas.

According to Mayor Robinson, cost were kept low as the contractor had purchased building materials before the COVID pandemic shut everything down.

“We needed a decent place to work,” said the Mayor, who told the crowd how City Clerk Heather Marfell battled “critters and water leaks” in the old building.

Streetman Commissioners worked to set aside half of the project budget, prior to starting the work.

As they cut the ribbon and invited residents inside for a tour, the City of Streetman stands debt-free with the completed project.

“This is a miracle,” said County Clerk Marfell.
