Drama Club to Present ‘Alice@Wonderland’

The Drama Club will present Alice @ Wonderland for their fall production at 6 p.m. on November 15 and 3 p.m. on November 16 at the FHS Auditorium. The entry cost is $8 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children ages 10 and under.

“It’s great to see the students’ interpretation of such iconic characters,” assistant director Kathie Maciel said. “They have a great time, and I hope to see that fun extend to the audience.”
The cast consists of freshman Nevaeh Brackens as “Alice,” sophomore Solomon Growden as “White Rabbit,” freshman Aaliyah Tran as “Queen of Hearts,” junior Skylar Cook as “Caterpillar,” sophomore Jonathon Escandon as ”Frog-Newsie,” sophomore Jonathan Ramirez as “Fish-Newsie,” junior Bella Falkner and junior Adalyn Peterson as “Cheshire cat,” freshman Owen Lane ”Mad Hatter,” sophomore Anna Allen ”March Hare,” Jazlynn Varela “Dormouse,” freshman Devin Bonner “Tweedledee,” junior Daniel Bonner “Tweedledum,” Dania Azuara “Humpty-dumpy,” and Kimmykay Rath “King of Hearts.”
“I think everyone has made great progress,” Tran said. “Everyone is incredibly helpful and kind and the suggestions the characters have made like projecting, hand movements and facial expressions.”
The Ensemble Cast includes Rylee Cook as “Door #1,” Jonathan Escandon as ”Door #2,” Devin Bonner as “Door #3,” Jordan McDaniel as “Tiny door,” Evelyn Fultz as “Chorus Member #2” and “Rose,” Jordan McDaniel as ”Chorus member #3,” Kaylee Rodgers as “Chorus Member #4” and “Violet,” Iliana Bautista as “Lily,” and freshman Marvin Reyes Martinez as “Queen’s Guard.”
“I wanted to try out for Alice because I love to act and I felt like I could relate to her,” Brackens said. “I love being Alice because it’s fun, and I get to interact with all the crazy characters.”
The production crew consists of sophomore Paisley Robinson and freshman Caiden DeFrance on lights, senior Bailey Holland and sophomore Nidhi Kalyanji on sound, freshmen Dallany Pena and Fernanda Ramirez, sophomore Vanessa Martinez, and senior Diego Jauregui on stage decoration, freshmen Cayden Cobb, Bailey Smith, and Capri Lapinski on costume/make-up, and junior Evelyn Fultz as “Alice/Queen” understudy.
“I like finding outfits that make people feel confident and not uncomfortable,” Lapinski said. “I’m excited to do makeup because I really like making the characters come to life.”
