Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) has been dedicated to getting books into the hands of Texas children for many years.
Doris Nealy, Freestone County RTA 2nd V-P and Book Project Chair, is collecting children’s books to give away to children in Freestone County.
Each local members have been asked to donate ten (10) books or $10.00 every year. Of course, more is always better!
So, if anyone has children’s books they would like to donate to a great community project please contact Doris.
Our book give away will still go on during Covid-19.
Kathern Carter has volunteered to work with Doris on this worthwhile community project.
There is no plan as of yet for distribution of the books, but children need to have their own books so get your donations in.
More volunteers will be needed at the time of distribution.
Lightly used or new books of any reading level, but especially for our younger students, are accepted.
