A Local State of Disaster has been declared by Freestone County Judge Linda Grant.
Signed on Friday, June 13, 2025, the Declaration was filed as a result of widespread damage resulting from the severe storms and flooding on May 28, 2025.
The event included heavy rainfall, flash flooding, river flooding, large hail, and hazardous wind gusts throughout Freestone County.
Just last week, the county’s Swift Water Rescue Team conducted at least 5 runs during heavy rain on Friday, according to the Freestone County Office of Emergency Management.
Multiple county roads have been reported as flooded and impassable. County Commissioners have been busy working on washouts and bridge repair.
Freestone County residents who received damage to their homes as a result of the recent weather are asked to report storm damage to the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Simply go online to damage.tdem.texas.gov to fill in the requested information.
This allows for tracking of damage to residential properties in Freestone County.
