Funeral services for Dianne Rutherford, 75, were held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague with Brother Josh Gafford and Brother Paul Gauntt officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 24, 2019, with the family present, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rutherford passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Providence Hospice in Waco.
Dianne was born on December 30, 1943 in Teague to parents, Paul & Lillie Bye Gauntt. She grew up in Teague and graduated from Teague High School, Class of 1962.
Dianne married Bill Rutherford on August 8, 1987 and they shared over 31 years of marriage together.
Mrs. Rutherford retired as a correctional clerk from UTMB with the TDCJ Boyd Unit.
She loved to go on cruises and she also loved to fish.
Dianne was a faithful wife and a wonderful, loving mother. She really loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rutherford was Baptist by faith and a member of the Cowboy Church in Freestone.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Rutherford of Teague; two daughters, Gala Pickett of Malakoff, and Lanett Waters & husband Ray of Buffalo; four grandchildren, J. T. Orand & spouse Haleigh of Haughton, LA, Heather Utsey & spouse Jeremy Schultz of Longview, Ryan Utsey & wife Carmen of Dallas, and Brady Ivey & wife Kaici of Brandon, MS; five great-grandchildren, Kolten Schultz, Mia Utsey, Sophia Utsey, Thomas Utsey and Macy Utsey; one sister, Martha Jane Hendon & husband George; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Lillie Bye Gauntt; one grandson, Colby Ivey; two brothers, Eugene Gauntt and Billy Gauntt; and one sister, Patricia Thompson.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Freestone Cowboy Church, 105 FCR 740, Teague, TX 75860.
