Two Dew ISD students were recognized last week at the Area IV Conservation Awards Banquet.

This event was held at the Rusk Civic Center on May 1, 2025, to recognize Outstanding Conservationists in many areas: Poster Contest, Essay Contest, Conservation Teachers, Ranchers, Farmers, etc. from the 37 Counties that make up Texas Area IV.

Freestone County Soil & Water Conservation District #424 was Honored to have 1st Place Jr. Essay Winner, Tyler Woodall, as well as 3rd Place Jr. Essay Winner, Landon Townsend, recognized.

Both young men are good friends, and with their families celebrated together.

Tyler was also chosen as the Texas State Jr. Conservation Essay Winner and will be acknowledged at the 85th Annual Texas State Soil & Water District Director Meeting to be held at Kalahari in Round Rock on September 30, 2025.
