Fairfield ISD will be having their Graduation ceremony on Friday, May 29, 2020 outside on the football field, as allowed by Governor Abbott’s orders.

This year will be unlike previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a various of changes made, with the full plan to allow the seniors to walk across the stage.

“This is not the way that WE want to do it. This is the way we have to do it,” Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams explained to the school board during their May meeting.

Guest

Each graduate will receive three tickets. Tickets are required for entry into the graduation, and lost tickets will not be replaced.

The choice of three tickets is based on guidelines on occupancy rating set forth by the State of Texas.

The parking lot with white rock north of the football field, the Johnson Activity Center Parking lot, and the senior parking lot are for visitor parking.

The student parking lot is reserved for graduates and faculty.

Only the north entrance will be available starting at 7:00 p.m. Both the home and visitor sides will be open with graduates facing towards the concession stands.

Guest are asked to not congregate and remember their social distancing.

Once inside the stadium make your way to a designated seating spot.

Fairfield ISD employees will handle COVID-19 screening prior to entering the stadium and anyone with symptoms will be required to leave.

A facemask or covering is allowed if someone chooses to wear one.

When the ceremony ends, guests may not go to the field, but must leave as guided, row by row.

For those unable to attend, there will be a live video feed of the entire ceremony. More information should be available at a later date.

Graduates

Parking for seniors will be in the South Gym Parking lot. Students need to arrive by 7:30 p.m.

Seating will be arranged at the north end of the football field with seats being spaced six feet apart.

Screening will be done on each senior as they enter their field; anyone who does not pass screening must leave the premises.

Guest tickets will be provided the day before commencement.

Face mask or coverings may be worn.

After graduation, Graduates are to exit the field, get in their vehicle and leave.

Fairfield ISD asks that you remember social distancing at all times, and to not congregate in the parking lots.

“Is it normal? It is far from normal,” Dr. Adams explained while discussing if Fairfield ISD would have a normal graduation, “Our graduates will be able to walk across that stage and receive their diploma, but the ceremony is far from normal because of the restrictions set in place by the Governor’s Order.”
