After a 28-½ career in law enforcement serving Freestone County, Deputy Robert Willis retired his badge on Friday, April 26, 2024.
Deputy Willis previously worked for both Teague and Wortham PDs for a short while before serving with the FCSO for more than 26 years.
“He was dedicated to the profession and loyal to Freestone County as he served and protected our citizens,” explains Sheriff Jeremy Shipley. “There have been many successes and accomplishments due to his efforts in regard to the safety of our citizens and for his tenacity in holding those involved in criminal activity accountable.”
He goes on to say, “Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement Deputy Willis. I hope you can look back with admiration on a successful career, and I hope you are looking forward with excitement and anticipation on what is to come.”
