Freestone County Commissioners have extended the Declaration of Local State of Disaster.
The original order, which covered widespread and severe damage from the May 28 storms, was signed on June 13 for a duration of seven days.
As of June 18, Commissioners extended the order for an additional 90 days.
On July 8, Commissioners held a special-called meeting in which they approved minutes from their June 18 meeting, approved budget transfers and amendments, held a short budget workshop, and tabled a few items pending further research and discussion.
Commissioners updated the Travel Policy regarding meals. Currently, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are repaid in the amount of $13 each per day. The updated policy, to take effect on October 1 of this year, will provide $15 each for breakfast and lunch, and $20 for dinner per day, when traveling for the County.
Also at this meeting, Commissioners approved, on a trial basis only, to enter into an agreement with Time Clock Plus (TCP) to install their software for time-keeping services. TCP made their presentation during the July 2 meeting, as reported in last week’s edition of The ‘Times.’
Freestone County Commissioners hold their regularly scheduled meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month, with special-called meetings held as needed.
