The staff of Fairview Healthcare in Fairfield had a friendly competition going last week when they decorated the hallways with Christmas cheer.
Resident Ora Nance was especially proud of her door, as she gave us a quick tour after pulling on a pair of oven mittens.  “Ora’s Bakery” included disposable cup “cakes” and boxes of Betty Crocker cake mixes.
Across the hall, her husband’s door featured a Toy Shop.
There were five themed hallways:
–The North Pole included a Christmas tree made of medical gloves with residents’ doors decorated with wrapping paper.
–The Polar Express was complete with Raymond the Conductor with his train.  “All Aboard,” he cried.
–Charlie Brown’s Christmas had all the favorite characters, including Snoopy sleeping on his dog house.
–Baby, It’s Cold Outside featured snowflakes and snowmen with a black and silver palette.
–Winter Wonderland included unique wreaths on each of the residents’ doors.

“We do it for the residents,” they said.  “They love it!”
