Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump This Week
The media had a feeding frenzy yesterday when Trump publicly asked the Russians to “find” Hillary Clinton’s erased emails. Pundits from the left accused him of asking the Russians to commit espionage against America. That’s laughable. The Russians and certainly the Chinese communists already possess the deleted 30,000 emails from Clinton’s unprotected server.
If an unemployed Romanian taxi driver with an outdated laptop could hack into her files, which he did, does anyone seriously think that enemy governments with IT geniuses and super computers have not already done so? The security breach happened when Ms. Clinton assumed that she was above the law and her own State Department regulations and used her at-home computer for secret communications about America’s business. The actual espionage that has already happened is Clinton’s baggage.
Mr. Trump has also come under fire for saying that Mr. Putin is a stronger leader than Mr. Obama whose legacy Hillary promises to continue. Saying unpleasant things like that does not make them untrue; it just makes them unfortunate. Putin is a strong leader, albeit a Mafia-type criminal one. Mr. Obama has still never had the moral courage to say aloud the name of our main enemy – Islamic terrorism. Coincidentally, Islamic terrorism is also a key enemy of the Russians as well. Mr. Putin has a vision of restoring the old soviet nation’s greatness [real or imagined], and he acts to achieve his objectives. Our current president won’t even call a Christmas tree what it is – instead, referring to it as a holiday tree. Hillary wants to continue this?
If the Chinese or Russians or whoever else (God knows?) do reveal her emails before November, it will be a very interesting autumn. John Gotti earned the nickname the Teflon Don because of all the times he wriggled out of guilty situations. He died in prison when his luck ran out. Ms. Clinton is not a cat with nine lives; she is using them up fast. Who knows? If she falls, maybe the Democratic Party will resurrect that tired old socialist, Bernie Sanders. We can only hope.
