To the Fairfield Community,

Larry Workman and I moved to Fairfield when he retired from the Department of the Interior in 2007. We fell in love with the area, the people and the animals. We were able to put down deep roots and forge lasting friendships so strong, they became family.

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, we laid Larry to rest after an extensive illness. Most of the family and friends of our funeral procession expressed awe and gratitude at the way this community showed honor and respect at our passing on the way to the cemetery. There was the man mowing at the side of the road that stopped and removed his hat as we passed. 90% of all oncoming traffic stopped and waited for us to pass to show respect for the dead of their community, whoever it might be.

Many family members and friends of ours has lived in many states and traveled to many more. They had never witnessed such respect before. It brought my older brothers to tears

I want to thank you for being such a patriotic and caring people. I thank God that He chose you for us to settle with. Thank you for letting me be a part of your community.
