To the folks of Freestone County,

By the time you read this I will have retired as your Sheriff.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the Sheriff of Freestone County these past four years.
As most of you know, it has been a difficult and trying time, for various reasons. I wish to thank those who supported me in this Office, and those who worked to help me obtain it. Your unwavering strength allowed me to do my best to serve all the citizens of our fine County.
The hard work of those who surrounded and supported me allowed us to accomplish many things that we feel have been a benefit to this Agency and the County of Freestone.
A special thank you to my staff who worked, and will continue to work, under difficult and stressful conditions to do the best job that can be done for our citizens. I leave with the knowledge that every decision I had to make was ultimately for, and in the best interest of, the citizens of Freestone County.
I am thankful for the good news and blessing that the ordeal down south has been dismissed and is over for myself as well as for Captain Robertson.
My plan is to take a brief period to relax and regroup, before possibly seeking other challenges and opportunities in the field of Law Enforcement, the field in which I have devoted 28 years of my life.
I thank the Lord for giving me the strength to work daily on your behalf, and I thank Him for answering my prayers.
Again, it has been my honor and privilege to have been your Sheriff, and I Pray the Blessings of the Lord on you all.

Don Anderson
Former Freestone County Sheriff
