Dear Editor,
On August 27th, I appeared before the Fairfield City Council to complain about the City sewer line forcing sewer water into my house on Troy Lane in April. On September 4th, Karen Leidy wrote a story in the Freestone County Times about the meeting. She stated that Clyde Woods, the City Public Works Director, made the statement that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality cleared the City of any fault. I contacted Karen Leidy on two occasions after this story, giving her a copy of the letter that I received from the TCEQ contradicting this, saying the City was at fault. I don’t know who made the incorrect statement, but asked her to write a retraction or correction to the story. The second time, she said she had not had time. I asked her about my writing this letter and she agreed to print it.
