Next week on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 is the last day to register to vote in time to participate in the General Election on November 6, 2018.
To register, stop by the Freestone County Election Office at 103 E. Main Street in Fairfield, Texas. You may also call 903-389-2635 for more information, or go online to www.votetexas.gov
Special Election has been ordered on November 6, 2018 for the purpose of “Changing Freestone County from Tier 1 county status to Tier 2 county status for purposes of municipal annexation as described by Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code.”
The General Election is held to elect Members of Congress, Members of the Legislature, and state, district, county and precinct officers.
On the ballot locally will include:
–County Judge
–District Clerk
–County Clerk
–County Treasurer
–County Commissioners (Pct. 2 & Pct. 4)
–Justice of the Peace (Pct. 1, Pct. 2, Pct. 3 & Pct. 4)
Early voting will be held from October 22, 2018 to November 2, 2018.
For those wanting to cast a ballot by mail, applications must be received by Friday, October 26, 2018.
