January 21, 1937 – December 19, 2022

Curtis Lynn Red, 85, was born to Eldred L. Red and Lula Mae Emmons Red on January 21, 1937, near Fairfield, Texas in Freestone County. He graduated Fairfield High School in 1955, and then Navarro Junior College. He attended TCU and later graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Curtis married Linda Nell Baty August 13, 1960. They lived in Grand Prairie, Texas where he had a successful career with LTV Aerospace for over 30 years, while also enjoying cattle ranching on weekends with his family. He loved hunting and fishing. Curtis and Linda had a son, Michael, while living in Grand Prairie.

After retirement, he and Linda returned to Fairfield and raised exotic animals including deer, ostrich and emu while also continuing with the cattle ranching. He also helped design, build, and run an emu oil refining facility in Jewett, Texas.

Curtis was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He loved his church and his church family.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda; son Michael Red and wife Terri of Mansfield; grandsons Justin Red and Joshua Red of Mansfield; granddaughter Alexa Red of Fairfield; and great-granddaughter, Josilyn Red of Mansfield.

Visitation was held at 10:00 AM to 11 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, Fairfield, followed by services at 11:00 AM. Interment followed the service at Antioch Cemetery. Officiated by Brother Terry Skinner. Pallbearers were Bill Minchew, Mark Chavers, Don McLeod, Samuel Mullen, Elton Moore, and Tommy Miller.
