Often, in the early evening, when the stresses of the day are weighing heavy, I pack it in and head out to the pasture. I’ll sit on my favorite rock, or just stand, with my shoulders slumped, head down and wait. It’s never long before I feel the magical tickle of whiskers against my neck, the elixir of warm breath across my ear, a restoring rub against my cheek. I have spoken their language, and they have responded. And my problems have vanished.
–Joe Camp, from The Soul of a Horse, 2008

We’re launching an exciting new venture for Limestone County; a place where children, veterans, first responders, and others with disabilities of all kinds can ride, interact, and experience one of Humankind’s most trusted partners – the horse.

Cross Creek Meadows is a Christ-centered organization that provides Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) for people who are most in need. EAAT is a proven educational system, with over 881 centers around the globe where more than 66,000 children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges find strength and independence through a bond with the horse. Now, this proven, successful therapy comes to Limestone County.

Please join us for a sneak-peek at the progress we have made so far.
