County Museum Opens Applications for 2023 Scholarships

Applications are now available for Freestone County Historical Commission’s Heritage Scholarship for Freestone County’s 2023 graduating seniors.

School counselors for Fairfield, Teague and Wortham high schools have been sent applications for their students. Deadlines will be determined by each school.

Homeschoolers may stop by the Museum for a copy of application at 302 East Main Street in Fairfield. Deadlines will be announced by Museum curator Patricia Pratt.

This year’s scholarships will be in the amount of $500.

Requirements include:

–Visit with Museum Curator to discuss research requirements,

–Short essay (600-700 words) on one Research Topic from the Museum,

–Short explanation for chosen topic,

–Brief Resume, and

–Two reference letters,
