Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a Freestone County Jail inmate, which occurred Sunday evening, August 11, 2024.
“This is the first death of an inmate since I was first elected in 2007,” explains Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1, Theresa Farris.
No foul play is suspected in the death of the man, who is reportedly from the Kirvin area.
The deceased’s body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy to determine official cause of death.
Name of the deceased was later released as Michael Watson, 49, of Kirvin.
