County Footballers Named to Academic All-State Teams

The Texas Army National Guard and the Texas High School Coaches Association recently announce the 2022 Football Academic All-State Recipients.

“We understand that students’ performance in the classroom can sometimes be difficult to manage while participating in athletics, but their hard work has not gone unnoticed,” reads the thsca website.

The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score.

Five football athletes from Freestone County have been recognized this season. They include:

Fairfield High School:

–Samuel Marsters – 1st Team Player

–Braiden Barrett – 1st Team Player

–Kolby Adams – 2nd Team Player

Teague High School:

–Anthony Dimiceli – 1st Team Player

Wortham High School:

–Preston Batts – 2nd Team Player
