Lots to do this weekend at Fairfield Market Days — with a BBQ Cook-off, a Sewing Class and a FREE Community Lunch, in addition to the usual shopping opportunities.
Offering such things as Arts & Crafts, Jewelry, Bling, Clothing, Food, Furniture, Antiques, Fresh Produce, Tools, Toys and more; Market Days is held each month at the W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds in Fairfield, Texas.
Held August 26-28, 2016, vendors will open their booths from 12 noon – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The annual BBQ Cook-off, hosted by Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, will get started at midnight on Friday, August 26th. Teams will be cooking up Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, Chicken and Cook’s Choice.
Entries will be turned in on Saturday morning with judging at 9:45 for Cook’s Choice, 10:15 for Beef Brisket, 11:00 for Pork Ribs and 11:45 for Chicken.

Meanwhile, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th, a Sewing Class will get started in the Green Barn (Civic Center). Participants will be making Ghost Mug Rugs (suitable for coffee mugs and cookies).
The FREE class will last through 2:00 p.m. Those attending should bring their own sewing machine and some white thread. Mug Rug kits will be available for purchase ($15).

All vendors are expected to stay until closing.
Coming up next month, there will be TWO Markets in September.
First, a special Market Days will be held September 9-11 as the Texas State Coon Hunters return (the same day as the 19th annual Show of Wheels and Fairfield Citywide Garage Sale).
Second, the regularly scheduled Market Days will be September 23-25.
