Garage sale fun, yummy baked goods, a silent auction and great bargains are in store for folks who attend the Community Care Club’s “Big Garage Sale” fundraiser event to be held Saturday, May 5th, from 8 am to 4 pm at the Southern Oaks Fire Station, located just north of the Shell station on FM 416.
“It’s a chance to get some great bargains, run into friends and neighbors and help the CCC raise money for their many charitable causes,” said Mary Schutz, one of the event coordinators. “Our funds go toward scholarships for area students, the local volunteer fire department, children’s homes, nursing home residents, and our new “Lunch & Learn” program for kids during the summer.”
Items at the sale range from household goods and home décor, to toys, fishing equipment, antiques, tools, furniture and miscellaneous items for any interest. Baked goods will be available for purchase as well, with a variety of delicious items furnished by members of the CCC.
In addition, a variety of special items will be included in a Silent Auction and will be open for bidding throughout the day, until they are sold off at 2 pm. Winners of these items need not be present, but bids will be taken up til the item is sold.
