business_community_national_donation_110916Community National Bank & Trust announced that it is sending 9 teachers to the Jump$tart National Educator Conference (#JSNEC16) in November, including a 3-day stay at the Dallas Intercontinental Hotel in Addison, Texas.  The conference aims to provide teachers with the tools, training, encouragement and experience to educate PreK-12 students in personal finance.
“We are very excited to send Bryant Smith from Fairfield ISD to the conference,” said Teresa Duke, VP/Loan Officer.  “This is a great opportunity to send a teacher from our community to learn more about financial literacy and then implement it back into the classroom.
The national Jump$tart Coalition is presenting its 8th annual conference, which gives attendees the opportunity to see, learn about, and try educational resources to integrate immediately into current   lesson plans in addition to networking with colleagues from across the country.
“The conference is not only a resource for educators, but also a way of saying thank you for their service to our schools, our youth and our financial future,” said K.C. Wyatt, President/CEO. “Community National is grateful for our strong, dedicated educators, and it’s an honor to give them the opportunity to attend #JSNEC16.”
The conference is largely underwritten by national sponsors, so each Community National scholarship is able to provide access to the conference, all meals, hotel stay, and even a gift card for transportation costs and incidentals. Community National awarded scholarships to teachers from Fairfield ISD, Corsicana ISD, Mildred ISD, Frost ISD, Weatherford ISD, Mineral Wells ISD, Red Oak ISD, Lake Worth ISD, and Buffalo ISD to attend #JSNEC16.
