Fairfield Eagle Fans,
Hard to believe this is starting our fifth week of school. Things are not slowing down any.
Our Cross Country teams ran in Huntsville at the Region III Preview. Our girls won the meet and our boys competed well. They represented Fairfield well in Huntsville. Our jr. high competed in Grapeland on Saturday and both the boys/girls won the meet. Our kids are running well. We will be hosting our Golden Eagle Run this Saturday at the Cross Country course on Saturday. Come out and support our kids.
The volleyball teams had another great week. We defeated Alpha Omega last Tuesday and then defeated Rusk on Friday. The girls are getting better and playing well together. We will play in Centerville on Tuesday and in Athens on Friday. Come watch our girls. The jr. high defeated Madisonville last Thursday. All teams won. We will play here against Palestine Monday.
Our 9th grade football team started the season 2-0. They defeated Brownsboro 16-7. Our JV is also 2-0. We won a lightning shortened game with Brownsboro, 12-6. The Varsity defeated Brownsboro 55-28. The boys went in at halftime with the score 21-21. The defense shut down the Bears offense in the second half only giving up one touchdown while the offense scored 34 points. We will play the Athens Hornets next week who had a big win over Rusk. Our jr. high football teams will be playing in Athens starting with the 7B team at 4:30pm. Our 9th/JV will be home beginning at 5pm. Come support our Eagles.
