Eagle Fans,

Volleyball started District off with a WIN over Palestine last Friday night.  All the warm up games in non-district have gotten us prepared for our district run.  We defeated a good Canton team on Tuesday in four sets to end our non-district games.  The win against Palestine starts our district record off 1-0. We have a bye on Tuesday and Rusk will come to Fairfield on Friday at 4:30pm.

In Cross Country, our kids ran in Ennis on Saturday.  The Varsity, JV, and jr. high girls teams won the meet.  The boys competed well in Ennis. The high school will run at McNeil which is the course where we will run at State. The jr. high will run in Connally on Saturday.

In football, the jr. high played in Palestine.  Due to weather, only the A teams got to play in Palestine.  The 7a lost to Palestine 30-6. The 8a won 18-14. They got revenge from last year only loss of the season.  They will start district play in Lorena on Thursday. Our Freshmen lost 20-12 and our JV lost 21-14 in a rainy overcast night.  The boys competed hard and will be ready to play Lorena here beginning at 5pm Thursday. The Varsity went to Palestine and defeated the Wildcats 17-14 in a hard hitting four quarter game.  Our defense was stingy the entire night. We intercepted four passes with KD Walker (2), Jaise Oliver (1), and Jar-Mychael Hudson (1) and he returned his for a TD which put the game away. The kicking was the difference with Tyler Haynes making a field goal and two extra points.  The Eagles will start district play against the Lorena Leopards in Lorena on Friday. They are a top 5 ranked time in the state. It will be a great test for our Eagles. Come watch a great game.

Come support our Eagles and Lady Eagles!
