“We are still in shock,” said Co-Chair Olivia Robinson concerning the success of the Second Annual Sporting Clays Shoot, held Saturday, September 18, 2021.

One hundred and eighty shooters came out for this year’s event.

Thanks to all the generous sponsors and volunteers, this fundraiser for the Kindness From Case Foundation surpassed all of their goals.

“Our goal was to fund at least 80 Flatt Packs for back to school,” said Olivia. “We were able to do 100 of them for Fairfield, Dew, Wortham and Teague schools.”

Their next project is providing warm coats and winter clothing to students in need. “We have already started reaching out to the schools,” said Olivia.

The Kindness From Case Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a Texas Non-Profit Corporation that was organized in the fall of 2018 to honor and memorialize the life, legacy and acts of kindness shown by eleven-year-old Case Robinson. The Foundation has grown from the funds graciously donated in his memory by the community.

Case was a 5th grade student at Fairfield Intermediate School who died on September 10, 2018 as a result of a tragic UTV accident. Although Case is now with God, he left many fond memories for those who knew, loved, cherished and befriended him.

Although in its second year, Olivia says the 2021 Sporting Clays Shoot event had to be built from scratch.

Last year’s event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the clay shooting site used that first year (at Caney Creek) had burned down.

“We started from just a pasture,” said Olivia.

Her fiancée, Steven Hays, cleared the entire pasture, while Circle Z Ranch donated use of their equipment. Long Industries set up the new entrance to the course.

Then, the folks at The Venue at G Bar Ranch opened their facility for the After Party, including a Corn Hole Tournament hosted by the FreeCo Go Texan Committee.

“We expected to be down by three o’clock,” said Olivia. “We were there until 10 p.m., and ran out of food – twice!”
