The award-winning Shea-Kim Duo will be presented in concert by Trinity Star Arts Council on March 26. This husband-wife team formed in 2014 and have been appearing in worldwide concerts, competitions, and teaching positions since then.
Brendon Shea, violinist extraordinaire, began his career at age 11, performing in Carnegie Hall as well as other outstanding venues throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. He has earned numerous prestigious awards in national competitions and festivals spanning three continents. His credits also include several recorded albums. Shea currently serves as concertmaster for the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra and is a guest faculty member at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the University of Notre Dame.
Yerin Kim has been praised as a pianist of beautiful finesse and golden tone. Her multi-faceted career includes soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and educator. Her debut solo album, entitled “First and Last Words,” was released in 2016, and she has since recorded several albums both solo and duo with Shea. Holding high degrees in piano performance, musical arts and psychology, Kim is equally passionate about music education and specializes in teaching diverse groups of young people around the world. She is currently Piano Professor and Director of Keyboard Studies at Central Washington University.
