The Angelic Hosts came for Mrs. Clara Vernett McIlveen of Fairfield, Texas on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Missouri City, Texas where she was in the loving and tender care of her children.
Services, based upon the COVID-19 Guidelines, were held Saturday, May 30, at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, 360 Church Street, Fairfield. Viewing was from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service began at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Conrell Lockett, officiated and Rev, Estell McIlveen, was the Eulogist. Interment was in the Fairfield Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. McIlveen was born on October 18, 1928 in Teague, Texas and was the only child of Cuny and Roma Durham. She was the Valedictorian of The Dogan High School Class of 1946 in Fairfield. She retired from CON TEL Corporation. She was a dedicated member of Jones Chapel UMC and was a faithful member of the choir and other ministries of the church.
She and Clifford Lincoln McIlveen were married and to this union 5 children were born.
Mrs. McIlveen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother: R. W. Durham and a son: Nelson McIlveen. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her son: Minister Clifford Estell McIlveen (Ruby)m Sugarland, Texas; daughter: Linda McIlveen Robinson, Houston, Tx; Daughter: Sandra McIlveen Goosby (Frank), Missouri City, Tx; Son: Gerry deGaullee McIlveen (Venterlene), Fairfield, Tx; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of relatives and friends.
