Sheriff Jeremy Shipley and the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office are hosting this FREE training to the public on Tuesday, April 10th.

This training, “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events,” teaches what happens during an event. The human response, both physical and psychological, common actions of the actor, law enforcement response, and actions you can take to help you and your loved ones survive the attack.

The course will be presented by Sergeant Darrell Coslin of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Coslin has 33 years of Law Enforcement experiences, having served 30 years with the Dallas Police Department with duties that included Patrol Sergeant, Detective, Academy Instructor, and also as a full-time SWAT Officer.

The training will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield High School Auditorium, located at 631 Post Oak Rd. in Fairfield.

This subject is graphic and some portions of the training may not be suitable for children. Parents are strongly encouraged to NOT to bring children younger than 13-years-of-age to the training.
